Scarborough Man Dies While Snowmobiling

Officers of the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to Haliburton Lake on Friday March 2 at approximately 8:30 pm, to investigate an incident involving a snowmobiler who appeared to have fallen off of his machine.

On arrival, the officers discovered that the snowmobiler had no vital signs, and was being assisted by bystanders, Haliburton Fire and Rescue and Haliburton CountyEMS.

The snowmobiler was transported to Haliburton Highlands Health Services – Haliburton Site, where he was pronounced deceased.

The deceased has been identified as Aron Douglas Royle, 36 years ofScarborough,Ontario.

The investigation into this incident is continuing.
